Upcoming events this week…
Joe Holdren, the talent behind the historic Icehouse art gallery in downtown phoenix, has invited several Arizona artists to participate in Put the Art in pARTy and I’m pleased to be included. This is a group exhibition happening during Art Detour 29 in Downtown Phoenix to meet and greet many artists that live and work around Phoenix area. This will be concurrent to the wonderful show, Songs Untitled, by artists, Dan Pederson, Joe Holdren, Carol O’Hara Sherwood and Onna Voellmer. Below are pictures of their work. The Art Party is Saturday 10am -2am through Sunday 10am – 5pm, March 18th – 19th, 429 W. Jackson St.! Come on by, enjoy the art, speak with the artists, hear live music and have some refreshments.
I took the following pictures (the first one below is by Joe) when I dropped off my artwork last week. You can see that the crew at Icehouse is busy putting up new lighting in preparation for a fantastic time!
With my two work, Awake and Diviners.
I also have these four artworks, two drawings and two paintings, at The Artery, during Art Detour 29. These will be included in the group show with Ladies Who Paint. Also be sure to walk upstairs and view the studios of artists such as Ann Morriss Osgood and Laura Cohen-Hogan.
Third Friday, March 17th, 6 – 10 pm
Saturday, March 18th, 11 am – 5 pm
Sunday, March 19th, 11 am – 5 pm
It’s been full speed ahead the past couple of weeks! I have completed the painting, Calamus, and started several more. Below are detail pictures of one I’m working on.
I have recently finished the new painting, Treasures, watercolor, ink and pastel, 9″ x 13 5/16″. This magical little painting can be also seen at my website, charmagnecoe.com.
Limited edition giclée prints are available. Each is based on an original painting I created in watercolor, ink and pastel. I like to create small volumes to preserve the value of each one. They are professionally printed on 255 gsm acid free, 100% cotton rag Somerset Velvet paper (similar look and feel to watercolor paper) using Epson’s archival UltraChrome pigment inks. Each print is signed and numbered on the front. You can view them here!
Original paintings, such as the above When the Lines Disappear, I Am Not Afraid With You are seen at my website as well.
Earlier this year, I was honored as Art and Art Deadline’s February Featured Artist. I thoroughly enjoyed participating in the interview conducted by its talented creator, Rachel Gibson. At this site you can read about artists who are pushing the boundaries of contemporary art. It is also an invaluable resource for artists looking for reputable opportunities for publication and exhibition. If you enjoy my work and feel so inclined after reading my interview, please leave a comment. Artists who receive the most comments by December 31st will be awarded AAD’s Featured Artist of 2014. Thank you!
I started a painting last weekend. It seems to be actually creating itself very quickly. Perhaps I shall finish it by this coming weekend. Peek:
I’ve been listening a lot to Damien Rice’s new album, My Favorite Faded Fantasy. Damien’s voice and words slice, like velvet and talons, to the bone of it all. I dare you to listen without tears. If you’ve loved and hoped, you know. Here is “I Don’t Want to Change You”.
Good Saturday to you all and Happy Small Business Saturday! I am offering 30% off for one more day on my entire catalog of paintings and limited edition giclée prints! If you have been waiting to collect my art, this is a wonderful time to do it. Visit my website and peruse: charmagnecoe.com
My paintings are created in watercolor, ink and pastel. Each is an original expression, fantastical, otherworldly and inner-worldly. I began experimenting with the three media in 2008 and never looked back. I choose framing that is archival and to the highest standards of conservation.
I am introducing two new volumes of limited edition giclée prints: Diving, Mining to Meet You and When the Lines Disappear, I Am Not Afraid With You. These are unframed, archival giclee prints professionally created on 255 gsm acid free, 100% cotton rag Somerset Velvet paper (similar look and feel to watercolor paper) using Epson’s archival UltraChrome pigment inks. Each print is signed and numbered on the front. I am happy to assist you in selecting additional framing as well with Hidden Light’s The Framing Department.
I recently moved my studio to another location within my home – where I create best – and uncovered several earlier, unframed works which are more primitive and quiet. I added a new page to my website to make these available for purchase. They are very dear. These are included in my sale.
My Society 6 store offers open edition prints of my selected drawings. Also available are other lovely objets d’art created with these images. Drawing is a great passion of mine and an integral part of my creative process. I love the unbidden nature of moving a pen across a paper and always feeling surprised by what arrives! It’s so fun to see these drawings in new formats and able to be viewed during daily life as functional art!
As you can see, my mind’s been humming with new ideas… but now, it’s really time to get back to my (new) studio and continue drawing and painting. 🙂 Take care and thanks again for coming by to see what I’ve been up to!
At Society6, very affordable open edition prints of my drawings are available. This one is “The Agate/Come Alive”.
Here is my newest painting, “Gale Embrace”. Watercolor, ink and pastel, 15 15/16″ x 18 1/8″.
For Illustration Friday, I’ve created a little painted drawing, “Finding the Notes”. Their theme this week is “Tribute”.
I am so happy to announce that I am opening shop… at Society6! After many requests for my drawings, I’ve decided to offer open edition prints. Each is a gallery quality giclée print on natural white, matte, ultra smooth, 100% cotton rag, acid and lignin free archival paper using Epson K3 archival inks. The prints are custom trimmed with 1″ border for framing and can be purchased in a variety of sizes. Come by and see me there!
